Research Professional Duties
SUMMARY
This is the fifth in a series of eight titles for positions
involving the performance and management of duties in a research
setting. Positions assigned to the Research series have
increasingly more responsibility for research design and
modification, data analysis, interpretation, project management,
results summarization, and formal presentations.
The Research Professional I works closely with others to design
and develop components of a project(s), and may supervise other
professional and technical staff
The Research Technician III and the Research Professional I may
perform very similar tasks, however, the application of
theoretical concepts should be a requirement of the Professional
levels. Therefore, the Professional levels prefer a Bachelor's
degree or higher in the appropriate discipline.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interprets and analyzes results.
Organizes technical information for presentations.
May contribute to publications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and some related experience or equivalent
combination required.
Area-specific certification and/or training may be required and
other training will be provided as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applies an entry-level professional knowledge of procedures and
concepts.
