Retail Food Sales Supervisor Duties
SUMMARY
This is administrative and supervisory work in Cash Operations,
Food Services. An employee allocated to this class of work is
responsible for planning, organizing, assigning, and supervising
the work of a group of diversified personnel engaged in food
preparation and customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for opening and closing Campus Eateries.
Counts, and verifies cash drawers and change fund, and makes
deposits.
Transports cashiers and cash drawers to each unit.
Assists in training of cashiers, production, and delivery
personnel.
Assists in data entry of information into the food pro system.
Places orders for sandwiches, salads, and baked goods from
on-campus facility
Assists in the planning of special events and promotions for
campus eateries, i.e., football games, showcases, Dawgs After
Dark, and cookouts.
Involved in the testing and marketability of new items for sale.
Maintains inventory records.
Supervises food storage.
Supervises preparation of facilities and serving of foods for
special events.
Supervises the cleaning of facilities and equipment.
Participates in job actions, e.g., discipline, hiring,
promoting, terminations
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard high school and considerable
experience in a large food service operation including some
supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of
training and experience. Driver's License required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of foods preparations, uses, and the care
of dishes, and kitchen utensils.
Considerable knowledge of health hazards relating to food
preparation and service and of effective precautionary measures.
Must be able to plan, assign and supervise the work of
subordinates in a manner conductive to full performance and
maintain high morale.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with employees and patrons.
