Grants Specialist Duties
SUMMARY
Administrative & technical work involving the receipt, review
and approval of proposals and awards and post-award
administration within the Office for Sponsored Programs. Work is
supervised by experienced Grants Officers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies funding sources to support the state of Georgia and
university research of the faculty;
Assists faculty& staff with proposal preparation by interpreting
agency philosophy, policies, regulations & guidelines;
Interprets, clarifies, and documents diverse agency
requirements, procedures & policies;
Serves as a liaison between potential funding agencies &
faculty;
Reviews & approves proposals for submission to external
sponsors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Bachelor's degree plus one year of direct
experience in proposal submission and post-award management,
preferably in an educational institution; or any equivalent
combination of training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of the methods, procedures and techniques
involved in post-award grant accounting and compliance
operations.
Knowledge of the institutional policies and procedures
pertaining to external funding.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with university personnel, state and federal
agencies and private organizations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to supervise the work of others. |
