SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall management of the Property Control department, which includes both property accounting and surplus property.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages & supervises the work of the Property Accounting Office and the Surplus Warehouse to ensure accurate and timely information input into the Equipment Inventory (EI) database.

Reconcile between $28 to $45 million dollars expended by UGA each year for equipment is accounted for in the EI database.

Prepare and present internal auditors, external auditors, and others with property reports. Includes answering any questions and dealing with any issues that the auditors have.

Manage personnel resources making sure employees are qualified and trained in their specific duties and make sure they complete job assignments in a timely manner.

Control and monitor the Property Control budget to ensure availability of funds for necessary expenditures.

Prepare monthly reports for accounting office (resident instruction asset inventory reports, equipment data reports)

Prepare customized reports tailored for specific needs or analysis.

Maintain current knowledge of new regulations concerning federal or state property guidelines.

Insure UGA personnel are informed of property guidelines.

Assist internal and external auditors with departmental audits of equipment and misc. duties as directed by the Accounting Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited college or university and four years related experience.
