Assistant Pro Shop Manager Duties
SUMMARY
This is responsible administrative work assisting in the
management of the University Golf Course Pro Shop and some
related business operations of the golf course.
Work involves assisting a administrative superiors by performing
a wide variety of duties supervising personnel working in the
pro shop and on the driving range, assisting in the inventory
and requisitioning of equipment and supplies and promoting the
use of the golf course facilities. Work is performed by
direction from an administrative superior and is subject to
review.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises personnel assigned to work in the pro shop and on the
driving range.
Administers the rules and regulations established for the
operation of the golf facility.
Assists in the requisition of supplies and equipment; properly
records receipt of such supplies and equipment.
Performs minor repairs on golf clubs.
Works as necessary to provide service at the golf course, which
may include working odd hours or shifts.
Keeps records and inventories of stock.
Serves customers in the pro shop; teaches the golf swing.
Assists in supervising the maintenance and use of motorized golf
carts.
Promotes interest in the use of the golf course facilities to
faculty, staff, alumni, and students.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university in an
appropriate curriculum and some experience in the recreation
field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Some knowledge of recreational operations and golf course
maintenance requirements.
Knowledge of personnel administration and business management.
Knowledge of record keeping and inventory systems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with faculty, students, and fellow employees.
Ability to supervise the work of others.
