Research Technician Duties

SUMMARY

This is the third in a series of eight titles for positions involving the performance and management of duties in a research setting. Positions assigned to the Research series have increasingly more responsibility for research design and modification, data analysis, interpretation, project management, results summarization, and formal presentations.

The Research Technician II follows defined procedures, interprets results to determine next steps, and makes decisions among a limited number of procedural choices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Produces and records data.

Summarizes results.

Develops reports.

Duties may include laboratory/bench work as well as a significant amount of time conducting software/computer work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree and some relevant experience required.

Area-specific certification may be required and training will be provided as appropriate (i.e. UGA HazMat training).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Applies working knowledge of procedures and concepts.
