SUMMARY

Responsible for researching and developing news content for UGA News Service and Columns. The general nature of this position involves news gathering, reporting, and editing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Write news and feature stories for Columns and news released for News Services

Gather and analyze information about newsworthy events

Evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story ideas

Update Columns archives

Edit and/or assist in editing and proofreading

Manage Columns subscription service

Attend staff meetings

Staff an event

Travel beyond Athens for research a story

Contact printers
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Journalism and considerable experience related to this class of work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
