Data Entry Clerk Duties

SUMMARY

This postition provides beginning level electronic entry of incoming documents from client departments as well as provides transmittal of data for production batch input. A person in this position also creates offsite backup tapes for data security.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for editing, processing (data entry) and distribution of raw source documents;

Consults with supervisor in providing needed information for keying process;

Adheres to strict batch processing schedule to meet deadlines;

Maintains program layout documentation of system programs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent and some clerical experience is preferred; A typing test
may be required by some departments.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of entry and coding procedures.

Skill in coding information into proper form for entry.
