Computer Operations Tech Duties
A person allocated to this class of work performs entry level
monitoring, controlling and analyzing work in the operations of
a computer console and related peripheral equipment. Work
includes analyzing potential problems and taking corrective
action, reviewing priorities in order to ensure production
schedules are met, and maintaining systems scheduler logs and
records regarding output units and supply inventories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manual tape mounts.
Routine printer operation.
Routine "housekeeping" duties (3rd shift).
Refers problems to higher authority.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience
and technical training in operating related computer equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of the operation of large-scale
electronic computers and their auxiliary equipment.
