Grants Assistant Duties
SUMMARY
Administrative and technical work with primary responsibilities
being to serve as a liaison between a school/college and the
Office for Sponsored Programs and to assist the faculty in their
area with proposal preparation and processing and award
administration. May function in an entry level position in the
Office for Sponsored Programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves in a department and works with Office for Sponsored
Programs;
Responsible for award management (financial and administrative)
and is involved from pre-award stages through termination of
contract or grant;
Processes and reviews all proposal applications;
Researches funding opportunities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of aN Associate's degree and 2 years of
administrative experience or a high school diploma and 5 years
of administrative experience or a Bachelor's degree. Prefer
experience with grant management, preferably in an educational
institution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the policies and procedures which govern the
retention and disposition of external funding award
documentation.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with university personnel, state and federal
agencies, and private organizations.
Ability to interpret various governmental and corporate
documents and to accurately respond as required.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
