Associate Accountant Duties
SUMMARY
Performs a variety of specialized or technical clerical
accounting and bookkeeping functions. Responsible for a
complete, systematic set of transactions in a specialized
accounting or bookkeeping function. This exempt work can be
distinguished from non-exempt work in that it deals mainly with
post-transaction reporting and is analytical, creative, and
evaluative. May lead or supervise a small clerical staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Examines financial statements for accuracy and compliance with
uniform accounting classifications.
Reconciles reports and financial data with statements on file
and reports inconsistencies.
Prepares a variety of financial statements for disbursements and
balances and follows assigned steps in analysis.
Prepares charts, tables, and other exhibits for reports.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business
Administration, or a related discipline; or any equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles, practices
and procedures.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and
budgeting practice.
Skill in maintaining and reconciling accounting and financial
records.
Ability to effectively communicate. |
